Wexford Man Bashes the Bookies

    Just got this in on the wire from William Hill:

    After a fantastic Cheltenham for the Bookmakers, it was pay back time for one Wexford punter! The lucky Wexford man struck gold on Saturday, with a “5c Lucky 63 bet”, which originally cost him €3.15. The punter, a regular in William Hill’s shop in Rafter Street, Enniscorthy, made six winning selections, which netted him a WHOPPING €34,559.94. It could have been worse for the bookies though, if he’d placed a €1 accumulator on the six horses, he would have scooped over ‘€250,000’!!

    Tony Kenny, William Hill’s Irish Spokesman “It truly was bet of a lifetime, to stake just €3.15 and to win over ten thousand times that amount, was just incredible! We wish him all the best with his Bonanza and hope he enjoys his ‘few’ pints, courtesy of William Hill”

    His selections were, in the 2.25 Newbury Yard Bird@8/1, 2.55 Newbury Jacks Craic@4/1; 3.10 Bangor-on-Dee Ross Comm@4/1; 3.15 Redcar “The William Hill Lincoln” Blythe Knight@22/1;

    3.45 Bangor-on-Dee Ile Maurice@6/1 and his final selection was the locally trained Aghacashel Angel@6/1 in the 4.00 at Navan

    Now that's a bet!!

    Feckin hell yeah - He only had a single 5c bet on the accum, at around 250,000/1 that and the 5 folds are what got him most of the money, €10 bet on the accum would have made him €2,500,000 :o
