    Hi

    I need some help with this. I have an imac G5, ibook G3 and will have Mac Book Pro next week and I want to get them all wireless. At the moment I have BT broadband and I am running a DSL cable around the house and plugging in and out as I need it.

    I want to lose that cable but what do I need from Apple. I'd call them but they'd take ages. I am pretty sure the G5 has an airport card, the ibook doesn't not sure about new mac book pro. Do I need an airport base station and will the modem from BT be cmpatible with this? I asked BT before but I got a youngfella that sounded 12 and wasn't sure.

    Any help would be great

    Thanks :confused:

    You need to buy something called a ADSL Wireless Router. The Airport is just Apple's brand of Wireless Router, but any one will do.
    The iMac G5 and the Powerbook will cope with Wireless fine, but you'll probably need to get a Wireless card for the iBook - or just run that off the cable you'll have left spare.

    SO it should look like:

    BT Modem --cable--> Wireless Router --wireless--> IMac G5 | iBook | MBP

    You can get the airport card off e-bay for the G3 iBook. A really cool product that would make a wireless network for your home would be an Airport express with tunes base station. You can get wireless internet access for up to ten users and also share a USB printer.
