    Yep, that's right.
Buslink have released a 64GB flash drive.
A bit pricey though at ~$5,000.
You'd be a lot better off with a 2.5" HD in external enclosure,
less chance of losing one of those.

Can't find a price for it on the page but don't know if i'd use that much - i've a 1GB which is quite enough for now!

But then again a 4GB - 5GB would suit me just nicely!

PS - was just watching an episode of 'Alias' and Marshall (the tech guy) put a 250GB Flash Drive inside a credit card.... oh, how i laughed at the sheer absurdity (yet marvelled at the downright coolness) of it all! :D

As I said, I dont see the need for a tiny, losable memory stick.
2.5" drives work well for me.. and a lot cheaper.

    aye,
but think how much lighter, quieter and smaller laptops and ipods could get.
also the power savings would be extremely beneficial for battery based hdd devices

    Thats a shocking price:eek:

Surely it doesnt cost them much more to make a 64gb usb stick, than a 64mb stick?????????

They both use the same amount of materials, what a premium:rolleyes:

Like dawballz said, You could get a 100gb external 2.5" drive for ~€200

yeah.. I remember one of my lecturers telling me that she used to work in some company(don't have a clue where, but it had s/t to do with computers/electronics) and they made a small circuit board, which cost about £5 to make but were selling it for £25,000.
It;s the technology that you're paying for, not the materials, so to speak.

Can you boot an os off a memory stick?
If so, a 5-10GB would be sweet, and in 12-18 months surely prices shouldbe more reasonable..

you can boot an OS off it alright, but it wont be long before the flash dies from all the R\W ops.

Isnt a Spindle HDD faster than a usb flash drive??

Why would someone want 64gb of slow memory that could die at any minute and costa few grand:confused:
