Acer Ferrari 3600 won't even POST

    Hey lads,
    I have a buddy whos Acer Ferrari just stopped working suddenly, when you turn it on I can hear the fans start, the HD spinning up but no POST screen or any bit of life outta the laptop.
    Anyone have any ideas about this or is the lappy dead as a dodo?

    Does sound like a serious issue alright I am afraid. Are you sure its not posting, have you tried powering it on with an external monitor ? It could be your screen thats gone rather than the motherboard or something like that.

    Also open the RAM cover etc on the underneath and make sure that the RAM hasn't jumped out of its slot due to a knock or anything.

    Failing that, is it under warranty ??

    If not under Warranty - Midia Distribution in Dublin (www.midia.ie) have an Acer service center, they do ROI warranty work, but I am sure will also do paid work out of warranty.

    Thats gonna help me too XDA as my Acer Aspire 1640 screen keeps not working on startup, sometimes a fiddle with it will do, sometimes it comes up in a smaller screen size and doesn't switch to widescreen.

    Tiz fair frustrating and I don't even have it that long, so thanks ill ask them bys!
