    Hey!
I 'm on a 1600KB/s satellite connection via Skydsl which i'm sharing with 4 other machines around the house on a wired/wifi Lan, and all with really very good download and surfing speeds, there running a mixture of 98se, y2k, and xp pro. My machine which has the better specs and is running the proxy on xp home is surfing at dialup speeds even when the other machines are powered down. None of my settings have changed and the only software installed in the last week or so was the ebay tool bar. This is driving me nuts and i don't really want to have to move to another machine to do my stuff.
    Any ideas?

Are you sure you have skydsl switched on? It should display an icon like the one next to the time in the attachment below. This icon will be of different colours depending on the package you are on. It is yellow for me now as I have exceeded my 1Gb cap for this month but is usually dark green as I'm on Skydsl Classic 2 costing €16.90 a month with a 1gig download cap.
