Follow the Maidens

The basic premise of this new fangled system (if I can call it that) is to follow the early flat season maidens and flag horses that have run well on their debuts or first time out this year.

Factors to look out for include -

Will they do better over further/shorter?
Will they do better on more suitable ground?

As soon as the horse is flagged it will be put in to a horse tracker and then the subsequent race he/she is entered in will be evaluated to see if the horse is worth a bet.

The qualifiers will then be posted up here.

    First Qualifier:

    Thursday March 30th
    Lingfield 2:30

    Royal Bandit

Had its first day at school at Kempton last Saturday and ran quite well just going down by a neck at 16-1. My notes about this horse were to not back it in a better event than he contested first time out until he was more proven. This basically means that I had my doubts about the quality of the opposition, hence the quality of the form.

Tomorrow's race is inferior to last saturday so this one should take all the beating if he's learned from his first time out.

he's about 17/10 on betfair at the moment

By an chance did the first 2 year old race of the season at Lingfield give you this idea?

You could add to this by including newcomers from stables that have already proven that their juveniles are forward enought to win first time out, a certain former footballer springs to mind.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 6,937 ✭✭✭fade2black

Funny you should mention that. I really have been taken with how Mick Channon has had his youngsters this season. Even the ones that haven't won are looking like cool customers that have been racing for years.

I'll tell you what Fade. If you put that bet on Tuesday online, any chance you could stick the winnings on Royal Bandit? :) No problem if you can't, just let me know though as I'll be doing it either way. if you didn't do it online then its ok.

    Pm sent bud.

Got a pm from Europeboy and as a result I've layed that horse on Betfair, 1.23 for a place and 2.5 for the win, savage prices. If that horse was any good he wouldn't be running in a maiden at Lingfield on a Thursday, he's definitley one to take on.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 6,937 ✭✭✭fade2black

What an idiotic thing to say. The race he finished second in on saturday wasn't much better than this and the horse's future is going to be at this level. This is a trial learning system and those watching the race will have noticed the horse was flying at the finish. Ran a abit green and should come on again at 6 furlongs.

Hi Ian, this thread is actually a SYSTEM.
When a system is running, the selections get posted despite your own feelings on the race. Betting on your own opinions is not system betting, it is METHOD betting, so should probrally be in the Thursday thread :)

Royal Bandit was flying at the end and maybe the race was too short for him. I had a bit on it but The Lunar won that money back for me with ease.

    Now Ian,

you did not send me the above message, I made it up. I'll admit that. 1 more off-topic post from you and you are banned. I'm not asking you if that is clear, I'm assuming that you get the gist of it.

Why didn't Europeboy just tell you that Ian? Seeing as you both go to the same college.

And we probably wouldn't have heard from you if the horse won.

Ok lads let's get a few things sorted out here. This is a system thread whereby I will be following maidens who have run well last time out in their next race if conditions suit.

Europeboy's gimp Ian147etc has come on here then telling us that the master has said the horse is going to lose, in fact he wouldn't even make the place. Some people, terribly foolishly in my opinion, followed this information. I also get a pm from Ian saying that no matter how well this horse ran last time he wasn't going to win today. I find this type of arrogance tremendously humourous. Firstly, the horse ran a bit green today which is to be expected, he ran on best of all though and missed out the places by about an inch. If the race was 6 furlongs he would have won going away. We learn then that the horse is suited better by further.

For someone to back that the favourite in a 9 runner race, the horse with the best form and ratings and the most likely to improve, is not going to even place then I think they are a couple of sandwiches short of a sunday picnic.

Also, spamming the forum with Europeboy cronnies is not going to be accepted. I welcomed the guy to the forum with open arms a few weeks ago and he has since gone on to prove his arrogance and got himself banned. If others want to follow suit, be my guest.

Anyway, this system thread has been ruined so I'll have to try it again.

    probably not..
anyway, to save the thread, just delete the posts.. most of it is just pointless banter..

I think Chelsea will win the Premiership this season.

This is an off-topic post and your banning me as a result will demonstrate how ridiculous your system is. I was just telling you the truth. Did he win? No. Did I post it up? Yes. The bottom line is that he's a miserable pony and he'll probably never win a race.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 6,937 ✭✭✭fade2black

    haha...what a plank you are.

i would love to be the bigger man and just ignore you but really the temptation is too great. You reply to Hobart saying his system is ridiculous but it has nothing to do with him, you can address me for that one thanks very much.

Then you say that the horse is a donkey who'll never win a race...but how would you know this? You're a puppet who passes on messages from a muppet.

Tell you what, I'd be more than happy for you to open up your own thread and post some well reasoned selections (that is if one of my mod friends don't ban you first) but I don't think you have the know how to do that. I'd love it if you tried to prove me wrong though.

There's generally a good atmosphere on this forum and the passers by who are looking for a quick buck may get excited by the apparent excitment of europeboy's hush hush posts but the rest of us know different and we've seen crap like this so many times before.

If you have anything to say about horse racing then by all means say it. If you have opinions on other people's posts than again by all means, say it respectfully. Just don't bother coming on speaking for anyone else again..if you do it you'll be banned in an act.

You've gone and done it haven't you. I'll never know how someone in a third level institute can be so blatantly ignorant. You don't get it do you, this is a SYSTEM. It's similar to my 'shaming system', well actually no it's not, the only thing similar is that both of them are systems. I could sink to your level of intelliegence and rant and rave, but I'm not that childish and it would fall on deaf ears, I'm sure. You're writing off a two year old horse, how you can even do that given it's performance today is beyond me. It's very obvious from the race that this horse is going to win, and from the betting market it's obvious that we're not the only one who thinks that.
Ian, you are being very childish, and moronic and quite frankly I am sick of it. We have been too nice for far too long.
If you are not banned by the time this is posted, I will proceed to ban you. But I will let you see this reply first. Because of your little antics, Europeboy17 is now on a permanent ban from here, and so are you, and any other member of your little muppet gang will be too.

I registered just there now but I was watching the debate over the last few days. I think those lads were wrong what they did and I think you were right to ban them. Would it be ok if I was in the forum?

I'm in college with Chris (Europeboy) and Ivan (Ian147100), they were talking about this in the pub last night with about 8 other lads. I know there real names if you want me to bust them for you. You wont believe who Europeboy's brother and uncle are. I dont like them and they cant find out its me posting so I dont mind unmasking them if you want.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 6,937 ✭✭✭fade2black

Believe us when we say we have absolutely no interest in Europeboy or Ian147100. If you post anything else in this thread or anything else to do with those two cowboys then you'll be banned too.

    Thanks.
