Any views on the Irish Captains performance last night?

Any views on Noel Furlong's perfomance in last nights Pokernations cup on C4.?

The look of utter disbelief on Ram's face, and the failed attempt to supress a broad smile, after Furlong had called his all in with A3, says it all for me.

Absolutly appalling performance. He was ****e and you could see it from his interview when he said "Ram had been raising too much" and "i had an ace" Jesus how did he win a world series. In fact I'd love to know who picked this team. Even Rory Liffey would have been a better captain. Let alone avoiding the like of O'Dea, Black and Roy Brindley (or could he be classed as Irish?) Bit of an Andy Townsend situation!!

I think the selection was fine. Furlong didn't do himself justice but to leave out our only world champion from an Irish poker team wouldn't really be fair.

Of the other three I'd totally agree with the selection, Padraig P, Scott Gray and Rory Liffey are all excellent players, and definitely warranted selection. They're also all fairly well known within the poker world which I'm sure was important for the producers. I don't know why Andy Black wasn't there, I'm sure he had other committments. Donnacha O'Dea is obviously a great player, but I'm sure he'd admit that he's more of a cash player, and a tournament format would probably suit the three chosen a bit better. Although he did win the poker million. You can't choose everybody though, and I don't think Padraig, Scott or Rory can be faulted for their performances.

I thought he did badly alright. I havent seen Mr Furlong play enough times to know if he's a great player or a lucky one.

I also think players have yet to really understand that team placing points systems change your optimum style of play as its placings that count not chip accumulation.

In terms of the choices for this event, Mr Gray, Mr Parkinson and Mr Liffey are fine and on any day would be in my list of picks.

    DeV.

He played poor imo, all in on a3 when he was doin ok...

Ram played good though he got raised off 3 or 4 pots when he was ahead..

When is the final table on?

Calling the A3 made me cringe, but everyone has a blow up from time to time. He wasnt great last night but he certainly does know how to put the pressure on in a hand.
