Any thoughts or experiences on it. I want to give it a go but not too sure where to begin.

Co. Dublin Beekeepers Association run a course every year, which is almost finished now (I'm doing it).
There is also a week long course every summer in Gormanston college, which is residential, and reasonably priced. I'll probably do that this year as well.
Theres quite a bit to it, so I would recommend doing a course.
