hey just wondering will this sata2 hard drive work on an ABIT IC7-G Max2 motherboard?

i'm not looking for sata2 speeds but if they work sata 1 i'd be happy.

    Cheers.

Most or all sata2 drives are sata 1 backward compatible AFAIK

All of them should be backward compatible, its part of the SATA2 standard as far as I know.
