Not familiar with the error message but you could contact Sonic technical support and ask them what it means.

Are you trying to convert files to a DVD format or simplying burning them to disc as is without conversion ?

VSO Software's CopyToDVD is a very straight forward and reliable CD/DVD writing app if you want to burn files to disc, likewise if you want to convert various videos to DVD their ConvertXToDVD is another good app and what I use for those jobs.

If this is for making basic DVD's Nero does a reasonable job try the demo and see if it how it works out for you (Nero Vision is the DVD authoring application in the suite).

    Problem description from the site.

    Title
    Invalid requested time (DVDerr, -19004)

    Description
    Burning/Writing

    Symptom
When trying to build a DVD folder or write DVD, the program gets to a transcoding phase (audio or video) and the error "Invalid requested time (DVDerr, -19004)" pops up.

    Solution
This error is usually due to an invalid specification of the files that have been imported. Rarely, this error occurs with video files that have been created by MyDVD. Please make sure that there are no DivX or other non compliant codecs attributed to the files. If you are using .avi files, use Microsoft DV-.avi

To make sure the files are valid, please review the Knowledge Base articles Preparing VCD Files for MyDVD, Preparing DVD Files for MyDVD, and Some info about .wmv files and MyDVD .

Another reason this error can occur is that the file names are too long. As an experiment, try reducing each file name to 8 characters or less and only use alpha-numeric characters.

You may also want to try rerouting MyDVD's temp folder. First create a new folder on the root level of your c:\ drive. "MyDVD Temp" is a good name for it. Then open MyDVD and go to File-->Preferences--> Hard Disk. There you can re-route the Temp folder path to the "MyDVD Temp". Then try to create the DVD again, preferably to the hard drive as a test.

Finally, some customers have experienced this issue after upgrading from an OEM version of MyDVD to a reatil version and trying to open the older projects. Reinstall the OEM version, complete any projects and either burn to DVD or build to the hard drive. Then reinstall the most recent version and edit the disc/session.
