Yeah, was going to tell them to stop serving me free Heineken and to turn up the lights a wee bit so I could get it juuuust 100% perfect. But I'll do it next time. Just for you.

If it had been the Carlsberg Experience you wouldn't even have needed to ask;)

The depth of field is rather good!

A simple level adjusment in photoshop would fix that...

It an ok pic, I mean it's not very imaginative, but good anyway........ considering some of the crap that gets posted on here.

Weh weh weh, don't you have some puppies to step on or something?

Shrimp is actually right, a bit of photoshop and you can have a "perfect" shot. He was pointing to you where the weakness of you photo is. You can take it or leave it.
I used the shadow/highlight tool in photoshop, 10 sec. and your photo looks a bit better (to me).

LOLLL :D That made me laugh alright!
Shrimp can be quite crude/dry/harsh I'll admit. But he is a good photographer IMO and most of the time his feedback is beneficial. I think he just needs to brush up on his people skills and feedback technique! :p

Ok your first comment was fair enough, but then you give out about the op attitude, then insult his photo before insulting other posters of the forum.

Are you having a good year?

Great work in PhotoShop there Edunon! The picture is now indeed better IMO. ;)

Actually Im gonna disagree. I prefer the original. The darkness provides a very rich atmosphere that the modified one strips away.

Critiques like edunon I appreciate and welcome.
Shrimp has the social etiquette and manner of a....shrimp, basically.
Anyway I wasn't on a photographic exhibition and just had my snappy handy p&s. I wasn't setting up for half an hour or anything, I had Heineken to down!
My fav is Carlsberg though, must get to Copenhagen sometime! Yummy!

How much is a beer in Copenhagen though? Scandinavia is really expensive isn't it?

Not at all, I genuinely feel what I said, the original has a richer quality to it.

Zillah, no one else feels the need to be so childish, so why do you?

I said my opinion on the photo, as did you.. We have different opinions, I haven't given out or tried to insult you because of your opinion, so dont try and do that to me.. as I've said, it's childish.

Its not the opinion I have a problem with, its the obnoxious attitude draped across it.
Zillah, no one else feels the need to be so childish, so why do you?

On the contrary, I think a lot of people feel like saying mean things to you when you act as you do.

not that I really give two fúcks, but considering you're on some sort of moral high-ground, then why do you say things that are mean* if you know they are? Aren't you not contradiction yourself? you tell me not to be so crude in my critique, then with the same breath you say "mean" things about me? At least when I am "harsh" I don't get personal..

*I've just reaslised, how much of a bird I sound like using the word mean...

The crucial difference is that I'm mean to you when you're mean to others. You're mean to others when they share some photos they took. Look, its not like you're outright insulting them or anything, its just that a little respect will go along way and a few people have noticed that your responses are often a little dismissive, and maybe a little arrogant.

But I'd prefere if you didn't get personal. Anyways..at the end of it all, I dont really care that much.

Shrimp, being good with a camera is only half the battle, you need to spend a little time improving your interpersonal skills. If you don't treat people with the respect you would like for yourself you are going to find yourself on people's ignore lists. You will become the ghost of the photography forum, talking but not being heard by anyone. No one wants that. Try to be pleasant now and again, you might get to like it.

Man, you must think I'm some pathetic loser to worry about these kind of "consequences", that you have so dramatically prophesied. This Photography forum, it doesn't exactly stand for much in my life like you've made it out to, so for me not to be liked by some members, hardly effects me. Thanks for the heads up none the less. Oh, and please don't use this as an example of my "arrogance", it might make me look bad in front of some internet nobodies.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,918 ✭✭✭Steffano2002

Well you obviously didn't understand what Hagar said there...

I think you should keep the ignorance up though! I find you hilarious! :D

Oh please, the "I don't actually care" caveat is really falling flat on its face. If you don't care what people think, then it doesn't matter what they say about you, right? What a safe position to be in, you can be as big an ass as you like and pretend that those silly internet people couldn't possibly be right. Unfortunately no one's buying it. So keep on with your super cool attitude if you like but its not gonna float.
