some people consider time to be money and would rather pay for shipping than pick something up.

But yes, there are deals to be had in media on the mainland.

Ah, for DVD's, CD's, etc, just use mediawrite.ie tbh. The shipping is usually only €5. As for komplett this, komplett that... its cos you can get sh|t on komplett for usually 100 yoyo's cheaper than Dixon's, etc.

I like dealing with Komplett because you can trust them to deliver the products and on time at a good cost. And when your outside Dublin you have less options to go to shops, which are more expensive the komplett.

its just word of mouth really. When I got into building computers, everyone recommended Komplett, they are cheap in some areas and you can order everything together and be guaranteed that it will arrive in 2 or 3 days. Its convenience more than anything. Plus I usually wait until something i'm buying from them goes on special offer so that the money saved pays for the shipping. Plus out of all the sites i've been to, Komplett has the best web interface, very user friendly and configurable. Crap returns, but then most OC'ers will void their warrenties out of the box messing with the HW.

Irish suppliers need to cop on and get a decent website together that offers everything for computer builders, and offer free shipping like shop4memory.ie in ireland. Compare the shop4memory site with Komplett though, which one looks more professional?

I personally will shop around if i can wait for something, ebay usually has amazing deals in their HW shops. But if i'm buying on impulse, Komplett is the way to go for that quick HW upgrade hit.

I've found there not great when you add up the total inc vat and shipping
Jaguar computers are very cheap and marx and elara but mr thinks there in liquidation now

Ive always got my PC bits and bobs from Komplett, I find them very good.
Recent example, I got myself a new Samsung syncmaster 17" that has DVI, I checked on the mainland and either most places did'nt have it or had a different model under speced for more money, in the end I went with komplett.
Compared to whats on offer in the "high street", komplett is better in terms of PC bits and pieces.
I dont get cd/dvd media from them so I cannot comment on that. And Elara has been bought over by another company, they are not into liquidation, I went up to their HQ in Canal wark a few weeks ago and everything was A-OK.
    :D

They deliver to me on time and have never messed up an order on me. This does make a big difference.

Especially since there's not exactly anywhere else in Cork to buy half the crap I need tbh. The only shop in town which does IT stuff didn't even have thermal paste the last time I was in there.

I've never seen anything but low quality sh1te in Irish shops, besides maybe Peats, and since I live in the sticks that's no good to me anyways. Most local computer shops seem to sell no-name generic crap, and if you want anything better than that they might order it in. If you're willing to wait weeks for it *and* pay through the nose for it. F**k that. Komplett have never f**ked up on me.

I buy all my RAM/flash memory from shop4memory, blank media mostly on the for sale section here at boards :) and other PC components from Komplett. I occasionally get some bits and bobs from Creative Labs, and I have to say their after sales/warranty service is the best I've ever seen.

Shipping from Komplett is good since they made An Post an option. If there's nobody around to sign for your item you can just pick it up at the post office, and I find stuff usually arrives with an post just as fast, if not faster than with GLS. DHL are mentally over priced. I remember when Komplett was new to Ireland, DHL was their only delivery option but they were actually reasonably priced.

Shipping from Creative and Shop4memory is bloody excellent cos its free and fast :)

eh Komplett's prices do include VAT by default :S

Komplett is respected around here as they are priced well, with constantly good after sales service.

Delivery is also pretty good and cheap. Anpost and GLS options work out around 10quid which is just below the average for online shops. And they also provide a faster DHL service for those who want to pay for it.

As with all things its best to shop around, and after you have a nice list of prices give a value to your need for there after sales service, assurances of quick delivery, or quality products etc etc'
