I live in Kilmac. With my binoculars I walked the length of the Little Sugarloaf today -- no sign of a 25foot mast a top a small building. Strange as I've live here for past 35years -- I know the area very well. We'll wait and see -- can't see it happening in the immediate future though. Any one with whereabouts out there? Regards Michael r.

If you were looking for a 25ft mast then you'd be disappointed. Regulations state that to erect a mast without needing planning permission the structure must be less than 10 ft high. The repeater used is most likely a MESH type and would be fitted to a house in much the same way a TV aireal is.

BTW Did you check your PM, I sent you the location?

Regional have been given a 'Go Live' date for Three Rock. The date is the 14th of April and in the mean time they have started Customer installations in Kilmacanogue. This means that as soon as the back haul is switched on those customers who have been installed will be able to use the service.

For security reasons only RTE employees and certain pre-approved contractors are allowed on Three Rock and anyone wishing to have equipment installed on the mast must use these specialists.

Thanks for that, Real B-man, that link is useful, will keep an eye on it. I see they were unable last week to complete their work, at this stage I will believe it when I see it!
