Adding mp3 audio to an AVI

Hi, Can someone recommend a way to do this. I ripped the audio from a movie (it was ac3), and am trying to add it back onto the avi as an mp3, so that it plays on my Mp4 player. I've tried virtuadub and dubit, but they only allow adding of wav audio as far as i can see. Can anyone help me with this? Thanks.

Virtual dub should let you mux in any audio you want, I've done it plenty of times.
