    Link dead-ends.

Oh, sure, they come out with this one *right after* you buy the other model. :)

    A bit pricey, eh? I mean, $1500 bucks for a 50watt combo?

    combo doesn't = shít.

Hmm, looks interesting. Am I right in thinking this is Engl's first EL34 based amp? 150Watts is quite a lot of juice though, is this trying to be in direct competition with the Mesa Boogie Rectumfriers?

Personally, I don't think I'll be running out to buy it any time soon, 4 channels is about twice what I'd need. I think I'll still be starting with the Fireball, but if I ever see the need for a 150Watt amp, nice to now there's more options out there, eh?

Yeah 150w is a tad too much but they will be doing 50 and 100w versions too.
    Looks sexy.

I think it's their first only EL34 based amp because the SE comes in a 6l6 and EL34 version.

Ah yes, I forgot about the SE.

That's my next amp fellas :)

150 Watts isnt too much. Your country is just too small :)
Anyway, if one of the punters on the boards here bought one of them they would surely for out for 2 4x12" cabs while they were at it, and got a nice stadium in which to practice.
I hear Lansdown is mostly empty these days...

You know, I would probably go for the 150 Watt version, as long as there's an option to switch it to lower wattage settings. That would be one extremely handy feature.

I mean, if the Mesa Boogie Rectifiers are anything to go by, the difference in price for different wattage versions wouldn't be much. Look here and here. At those kind of prices, a few more euro for 50 watts of a difference.

So, I'd definetly be hoping that Engl have included a feature to switch it to lower watt settings. I'd probably buy it then.

if there were any justice in the world (and my flat were bigger) i'd adore one of these... http://www.diezel.ch/en/products/einstein.php

heard a few soundbites and its got a fender bassman clean a jcm800 crunch and a beyond (as Karl so eloquantly put it)"Rectumfryer" lead channel!

neat, unusual "as is the engl", top quality, and killer sounds! i love these kind of amps!

check out Brunetti too for those interrested in an unusual mind blowing amp!

I think they're fairly reasonable when you compare them to the Mesa Boogie cabs.

Although something that's got me a little excited is this. Second entry from the bottom just says "Engl" so I wonder what that could be? :D

Well, changing between 6L6s and EL34s is just a matter of biasing range, so it shouldn't be any different with this amp. I guess it depends how they're marketing it though.

Yeah, a bit out of my price range too, but hopefully by the time it's actually out, I might have funds.

I tried it, you can't actually add it to your cart. :(

It certainly would be awesome if you got a brand new head for nothing though.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,691 ✭✭✭david

Meh i get head for nothing anyway

    It's up there!

Although, I was speaking with someone who was talking with Engl at the musikmesse, and so far they're only bringing out the 150 watt version now, then decide on the 100W and 50W versions.
