    Hi Guys,

I’ve agreed to do some writing for UK Poker News over the next couple of months. It’s mainly to cover the Irish Poker scene, which we all know is buzzing at the moment. My first report is on the Dublin Cup and might make interesting reading for some of you. (Dave).

I hope to be covering the Irish Open, Poker Events 3k, WSOP and the defensive of my World Speed Poker and I’m hoping to cover a few more things in the next couple of weeks, which will hopefully make good reading. I’ll keep you updated on any new articles as there release. This will be part one of the Dublin Cup today.

I would be interest in any articles you guys would like to cover also and if possible I’ll do my best to get them.

The site is generally gear towards the UK market, but covers most subjects in relation to poker and makes good reading. It’s fast becoming a popular site in the UK and does articles more on players and poker news than actual events.

Hope you enjoy it and if you dont, say nothing.

    Ollie

Thanks lads, the 2nd part will be better as I tell you what I think of Dave for knocking me out.lol. Only kidding.

Chopper just correct me on the two hands that we were involved in, I mention that he raised in both hands preflop, this was incorrect, he just called and I so did i with the A10 and I raised preflop with the JJ. So again, sorry for getting that wrong Chopper.

Its bloody hard to remember the details of hands, but I guess its important for the other players involved. I was taken notes of my hands, but its hard to do it without other people seeing what your playing. hmm, will have to find a better way.lol

    thanks for reading guys.

Fair play on the new deal with them Ollie.

The report is well written and gives a fair amount of detail about the hands. Im sure you will mention at least one of Maggies all ins in your next report!!!

That is a very readable report. I read it straight throught to the end and it flows.

Only one comment, and please take this as a constructive / helpful comment. I have played twice at Citywest so I know where it is. But a UK reader might like to know that it is a large hotel (not mentioned it is a hotel? how many rooms?), a number of miles west of Dublin city (how many miles?), used a number of times as an up-and-coming major Irish tournament venue (how many festivals there so far?), with a great poker room (what size? how many tables can it take? (previous biggest tourney will tell - Poker in Europe site might have stats)).

A lot of this report filler would be gladly supplied by the hotel or from their website.

But again .... it's a very good report. And I'm sure Irish poker players will help if asked for hand histories in future. It might be an idea to ask them before the tourney starts to jot down some notes during the breaks.

Agree Kincsem, but I'm not allowed to advertise the actual event, but I'm allowed to mention it etc, but I'll keep it in mind for the next one. I'm also restrict by space, but by bring Poker Events into it, I'm kind of hoping thats enough and also I talk positive about the event, cant really over do it.

I need to be careful with the hand history etc, but its very hard to remember each hand a couple of hours later when your either up or down, I did keep notes on the game, but you also need to keep an eye on the game itself.

But thanks for the points. And again thanks for all the positive comments lads, much appreciated

    Ollie

Ollie, ever consider a cameraphone pic of the table when the cards are all out?

I suppose its not really the cards thats the problem, its the betting sequence before, ie who raised, how many limpers, callers, pot size etc.

I dont think there's really a way of keeping track of this but by memory, so its not always going to be correct.

I've read a few reports and most other players dont go through the hand in as much details as I do, but I think people would rather the detail and the players thinking at each stage of the hand. I dont plan to be as detailed about everything in the future, so its only a matter of getting use to it, I get 90% of the details right, but you can forget, was there the raise before the flop etc. Also, your only guessing what the other player is thinking or trying to do and this can sometimes be the problem.

But with you, it was just history.lol

Talking of UK Poker News and all things Irish, seems PPP had a jolly-up at the Gutshot in London to get a media guy into the Irish Open!

    Hi Guys,

Nikki from PPP did an interview for me last week, it’s broken up into 3 parts and covers, The Irish Open, Paddy Power, Nikki and internet poker.

Hopefully it will make interesting reading for you guys.

I’ll let you know when the other parts are released.

There’s also a press release on the site in relation to the Ladbrokes Poker Million qualifier been held in the Merrion on April 18th, which provides 1 person a seat for the TV stages.
