the movie industry pretty much sucks ass now. i find myself seeing older movies lately because anything new is complete garbage. batman begins, however was ****ing good. it's a big load of crap that brokeback mountain wins all because it's about two faggots. the numbers sucked, no one saw this movie. yet it wins all. what a bunch of bs.

what do you mean by numbers?

If you mean the numbers of people seeing it, you really need to do your research. Brokeback Mountain sold out almost every screening it had in the cinema I work in.

For a film to win Best Picture it has to be on this list, called the shortlist. Now, do you see Batman Begins on that list? No? Well then I guess the members of the Academy of Motion Pictures, Arts and Sciences didn't think it was one of the five best films of the year. Of course they could be wrong, but they've been doing this a long time and for the most part they seem to know what they're doing. Sure, there have been occasions where they've picked the wrong film, but the one they've chosen instead will always be on the shortlist, strangely enough. Any further issues you have with the process should probably be taken up with the Academy directly.

If there are any other seemingly mind-boggling problems that you can't get your head around, the lovely people here at Boards will be only too willing to help.

Batman Begins wouldn't have deserved the best movie oscar to be completely honest. I wouldn't've minded seeing Brokeback Mountain winning it, but Crash was deserving I suppose.
