    Hey everyone,

    Have to write a 5000 word essay on the above topic for college. I dont study biology or medicine-I'm an engineer. Now i'm stuck in a bit of hole trying to do this. I've searched the internet and gotten loads of pages but they all have the same information-a basic overview-and wouldn't be enough to even fill a page. Anyone have any ideas on where to start searching, particular journals from the library etc..
    Also what sort of subsections i should split it into?

    what sort of an engineer are you? are you expected to write your essay on the techniques and methods perhaps?

    Focus on certain conditions as an example as it is a huge field. Also be aware that there are huge ethical issues involved and include cognisance of that in your essay.

    What is the target audience of your essay? is it engineers ? this will determine how you pitch it!

    How did you get on with this?

    For general info, magazines like New Scientist or Scientific American will generally have good background info on their websites.

    For 5,000 words though, you'd need a bit of depth; you could search this page http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/gquery/gquery.fcgi for "therapeutic cloning review" and click on the PubMedCentral (Open Access journals) results.
    It'll lead you to articles like this: http://www.pubmedcentral.gov/picrender.fcgi?tool=pmcentrez&blobtype=pdf&artid=1174821
