    Ctrl/Alt/del won bring up my task list anymore tried to access thru cmd but get a message tasklist is not a valid win32 application ?
    any ideas why i'd lose acces to this.

    Have you tried in 'Run' box type 'gpedit.msc' scroll down to :

    User Configuration\Administrative Template\System\Ctrl+Alt+Del options

    and configure it from there ?

    A virus i had last year caused a very similar problem for me.

    Have you ran a virus check?
