just watched jct final, no doubting it was a super rock team , and a poor but brave gonzaga team, but thought once again the referees gave rock everything ... missed all there knock ons and offsides ... its hard eneogh to beat rock given there numbers , but do they need the referees as well !

when they have 300~ students to choose from in 1st year, its pretty hard to NOT have a good players amongst them :<

and when they don't have the best players, they just import the odd soviet sprinter or the like . Similarities to Chelski in the premiership , where money can buy you the title , and also ruin the challenge for others.

Now, now don't be like that........

I believe that 'Rock do operate a student exchange scheme with other countries but I don't know if it extends to Russia.

Maybe schools will start giving sports scholarships. That would be legitimate wouldn't it ? :)

I think you'll find that the winger on their SCT, Artemiev, is of Russian origin and is here on some sort of scholarship.

Theres a lot of ABRs (any1 but rock) out there , screaming for nure , michaels, zaga, belvo or whoever --- they bring it on themselves , i have a good few ex-rock freinds , but when you get a bunch of Rock boys together they become obnoxious -- worst supporters in Leinster - certainly the most arrogant -- no doubting they produce great players and great teams . Ah well only another year to go , so come on Leinster , i'll forgive Drico his past

what the hell would any of you know about rock. You say they import a Russian winger, have you bothered to look that there are 7 or 8 Russians in the school and that 1 happens to be good at rugby. Also Blackrock is a boarding school so of course your going to get people from Offaly and the like. When artmitev came to rock in third year, how can you say that they imported him when he never played rugby before. Whoever said that rock has 300+ students in 1st year to choose from is an idiot ,the year is not even close to that. to that amount.

Yeh, they just happened to invite a student from the country to come to school in 6th year who also just happened to excel at rugby.

And who the hell repeats after getting 580 in their leaving cert?

u obviously have no idea why he repeated do u?it had nothing to do with rugby?and anyway he skipped 4th year in rock which is compulsary so its not like he repeated extra years which if he had done 4th year he'd have been on the s for 3 years anyway.so before u state something get ur facts right

Well if there was a genuine reason then fair enough I'm wrong, but then what was it? From what I heard he was only doing 2 subjects this year or something? Absolutely reeks of 'come back and help us win this year' to me.

    CUS offer scholarships for cricket.

A lot of schools, and universities for that matter, offer scholarships to individuals that excel at sport. What is wrong with that?

nothing wrong with scholarship - my original post related to the fact that I felt the ref was biased in Junior final - Rock always seem to get favours , when they don't need it. They are Junior and Senior champions so should be able to take a little bit of criticism - comes with the territory - some seem to get a bit upset with this.

quite simple really if he didnt stay in school for another year in ireland then he'd have to do militarty service in russia and if he went to college h'd have to pay 11,000 grand r sumthin.
