What Amp Should I Get???

I am thinking about buying a bigger amp but I don't know if I should get a Crate or a Marshall.

The kind of sound that looking to get out of the amp is mainly a crunchy tone. Not really a heavy distortion for metal but more clean and crunchy for classic rock. I'm trying to get a sound like of Jimmy Page of Led Zeppelin.

If you have any advise, please let me know.

Dont spose you have any clips of it? Ive extremely tempted by the head version of it but I cant find out for definite the ohm rating of it (The Randall website seems to havea different rating than a lot of reviews and some shops  )

The Randall got fantastic reviews when it came out, and its still a great beginners valve amp. However Its since been completely outclassed in all areas by the new Peavey Valve king, which is possbily even cheaper too. Shows you how quick the amp market can move. Check out the review of the peavey in guitarist magazine, ill email you a copy if you dont have it.

For what its worth, id go second hand. Also, dont bother with crate.

    Also, dont bother with crate.

Don't know if I'd agree with that assessment. Crate and Peavey were once considered the 'Behringer' of their day, but both have gone somewhat upscale.
Crate, especially, with fans like Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top, Buck Dharma of BOC, Joe Walsh, Jorma Kaukonen, Richie Blackmore, Sammy Hagar, and Warren Haynes.

A 100-watt Marshall Super Lead 1959 or JCM800 2203 is most likely the closest you'll get to the tone you describe. By all accounts the reissues aren't that much like the originals, so if I was you I'd shop Ebay for something from the mid-seventies.

Dude get a laney you could get a GH50L head for about €500.
It would be perfect for the tones you described and it has plenty more gain if you need it.
Even though I love my ENGL my Laney outshines it for as you say "crunchy classic rock".
