Are your trying to split a long audio file into 4 minute pieces??

Why not select 4 mins of it, copy it, save it as a different track, and then save it as a WAV?

That should work, unless I took the wrong end of the stick::D

    assuming its an mp3 file

google mp3splitter, think it might be on sourceforge

small app that will split mp3s to either certain file sizes or certian times

That is what I usually do except I export it as an MP3. It is a great piece of software. I regualary hook up my Sky Digibox to it and let it record all night and then shift through the following day to pick out songs I like. There can be some good late night music on Sky.

Good idea with the Digibox, but searching through 12 hours of audio to find a few good songs:eek:

I dont think Audacity can do it by default, But there is probably a plug-in.

Im afraid I cant help any more than that

I usually just kinda fast forward it and pick out the few good ones. I usually set the "Programme Planner" to switch channel during the night to a few of those top 20 etc. chart shows that have the latest music on them. I sometimes sit with it for about an hour and do the recording manually. I have amassed over a gig of music this way already. Since I don't have DSL and my Satellite Broadband has a 1Gig download limit on my current package, it is my only option to get a bit of decent music :( , yahoo music let's you listen but not save, I capture the music by setting Audacity to Wave Out Mix and it captures whatever your speakers are pumping out. It also can be used to record Telephone Conversations too I believe but my modem is Data only so I can't test it.

Cool, but even streaming music will break your cap, the 1gig limit is everything doen stream, so even every photo on every page that loads is using your cap:eek:
