    I reckon it's worth about €4,750 in a trade in against something similar

    i'll be looking to trade it in for something bigger soon, 4 door, 1.4 etc. not sure what year or how much i can afford yet.

    Cool, I'd presume the Micra hasn't given you any grief.

    i have to say honestly the micra is a great car never had a problem with it, i had a 91 before this and i've have this 00 from day 1, no previous owners. :)

    i done the scrap-age deal back in 00 from the 91 to the 00.

    The good news is that the 1.4 class has a lot of really good cars, you'll be spoilt for choice!

    ok i'm going to sell my car soon, i'll have 5K to spent. what would you recommend?

    must be;

    1998>
    1.2 to 1.5 petrol
    4/5 door (5 door? never got that :D)

    i'm thinking Astra/Corolla/Xsara & Megane. what ye think? i think the Corolla is the best of those?

    I would defo recommend an Astra.
    Great car, looks well and pleasure to drive

    I think it looks best in a 5 door - red

    Have a look!

    But maybe I am biased!!:D

    Mik

    Corolla is going to be reliable. Astra going to be nicer to drive and better driving position, would avoid Megane/Xsara.

    A good alternative is the Mazda 323gr_F_Lancerauto.jpg

    preferably the 1.5 engine with GLX trim, as this will have traction control, ABS, Sunroof, 4 Electric windows, central locking etc.

    1.3 LX models are very porly specced. These cars are about the most reliable car you can get in this age group. The great thing is that they're massively under rated and quite nice to drive too.

    I'll give you 3850 euros for the Micra if you want to sell it straight, PM me if your interested.

    @mik_da_man - looks nice hope you sell it :)

    @junkyard - thanks but no thanks :)

    @colm_mcm - yeah, i'd say more than likely i'll be going for the corolla, i think reliability is the main factor in a car. The Astra is a good looking car, but i'd rather put the money into a corolla, then again if the price was right :D.

    hmmmmm, the Mazda 323, i must look them up, that one looks very nice.

    thanks :)

    re: the 323, that's a standard model. and they're unbelievably well built.
