Little Help Guys? - PC not recognising Zen Micro

    I recently bought a 5gb Zen Micro off boards,and its great.

    The guy left some music on it and it plays fine,great battery life etc.

    But,when i try to put some music on it,my comp doesnt recognise it.It says no portable device is connected.Is the problem with the player or with the comp?

    I have a Zen and as far as i remember it came with a cd which contains the drivers needed for your pc to recognise the device. if you don't have that cd maybe the creative site might have a download section. if you are running windows xp it should recognise it straight away.

    I bought it secondhand,and it came with no CD.I am running Windows XP...What else could it be?

    Hi there,

    you should check what firmware version is on the player. Creative have an MTP (plays4sure) firmware for that player. Maybe the previous owner installed it.
    If that is installed then it won't work if you only have the software from the CD installed -you need to install an update from the Creative website for plays4sure enabled devices - have a look on their driver site.
