    Hi all,

I have a shared pc and wanted to password proect some folders with private files ect,

    just downloaded http://www.newsoftwares.net/folderlock/

seems to work fine, i also did a search for the folders while they were locked and the pc couldnt find the files they contained.

Anyways for a layperson using a pc they cant get into the folder,

anyone any experience of this software or have anything else to reccomend?

    cheers
    D

I think this has been done a few times. XP Pro lets you do it. Home doesnt. You can pay to get it done. Or you can zip them and put a password on the zip folder

i just meant its easy for me to use as opposed to zipping and then protecting the zipped folder - also it just gives a path error message when u try and open the folder when u use the software above so u wouldnt immediatley know its password protected

With XP Pro you can only password protect your folders if you hard drive is formatted with NTFS, aka does not work with FAT32
