ok im not veyr up on the tech side of sat or tv so ill try my best here,

ok signal comes down from the dish into digibox and is a feed is taken out of the otherside of the box that carries the signal up to the attic where it is joined with the signal from the ariel is boosted and distributed to all the TV points around the house. The purpose of this is so that Sky can be viewed in all rooms (on obviously the same SKY channel), however in one of the rooms on the 42" plasma there is vertical lines that move across the screen from left 2 right. However all other channels are perfect and Sky is perfect is all other rooms - anyone any ideas?

Put the Sky box beside the Plasma nad use SCART cable in RGB mode. You will have stereo too. No Stereo via RF, and also Plasma screen FAR FAR better picture from RGB than composite or RF.

    It sounds like intereferenc.

i cant put the plasma beside, the digibox because the cabling from both the dish and to the attic is wired at the opposite end of the house where the other sitting room is, where the tv used to be before the extension was built ne other ideas?

Is there a video or xbox in the room where the plasma is? If so turn them off and check if the interference disappears, if it does change the output channel of the offending device.

Use a video sender, or pull an extra cable into attic from Plasma and across to Dish.

sorry i don't understand what you mean by pulling a cable from the attic and over to a dish

    Zap,

You are just plain nuts feeding the 42" display with RF. If you move the digibox to the same location as the the 42" display and connect it via SCART you will notice a BIG improvement in picture quality.

Moreover you can use the existing coax connection that is feeding 42" display at the moment to uplink the RF feedback from the digibox back up to the attic from this location and feed the rest of the house. If you have a distribution point in the attic you only need ONE coax uplink from the room with your 42" display.

You will need to extend and reroute the existing cable from the dish and lnb, this should not be a major hassle, you can purchase 3 F connectors, 1 F connector joiner, and decent sat cable from B&Q.

    baud.

PS Not sure what sort of quality the video sender option gives, I would be keen to hear thoughts on this..

Video sender even via SCART is Composite, not RGB, but is stereo and better than RF. A good halfway compromise.

If you use a WiFi network carefull siting and channel selection of the WiFi base and the Video Sender TX is needed, otherwise the vide TX can dramatically slow the computer and the WiFi will put bands on the video. But I have successfully run both.

ok if i move the digibox and bring a new cable from the sat's lnb to the box, then the coax will feed the tv with channels from aeriel however how will i get the sat feed back to the distribution point in the attic?

Use the existing cable as the return path and either run rwo cables, one from the dish one from the amp or use a pair of tv/sat combiners to run the sat and the aerial feeds down one cable.

where do you plan to put the sky + box {2 coax cables needed}, Also do you know every digibox you have will have to be connected to a landline when you have a multiroom sub

he could use the 2nd box FTA only.

    Indeed he could watty but which ever box he uses at the 42" sky+ or mirror sub box it would require coax feed from the lnb and a land line connection {extra cables}

the coax from the lnb is not a problem it is literally right over it, the plasma is in a single storye extension with the dish on the gable right above it, so would that solve the problem?
