SSD to replace HDD?

SSD replace HDD nah... way too expensive vs the capacity of current HD's which are already at half a terabyte. What they are going to do is release hybrid drives these will have an amount of NAND (around 64MB or more) built into a traditional SATA HD which will act as a very fast buffer.

So you will get a benefit in much faster HD access with only a small increase in cost. Intel was demoing some of these drives at the Intel IDF a few weeks ago.

The first hybrids are due at the end of the year although Apple might be the first out the door this year with some of these given their now favoured position with Intel.
