LCD Monitor Problem - "Out of Range" warning

Ok i seem to be having a recurring problem with my new BenQ FP91G+ 19" LCD display.

It is giving me an "Out of range" warning during POST, but once I get into Windows, and the windows display driver loads the screen comes on. Not a big problem you say, well it is if you like to mess around in the BIOS and see whats going on at POST.

This has happened on 2 seperate machines, so i'm guessing its a compatibility problem with the default resolution/frequency at boot time.

The relevant specs of the 2 machines that it wouldn't work at POST are:
    1. ECS K7S5A Mobo, ATI Atlantis Radeon 9600, 256MB
    2. ASUS A8N-SLI Mobo, Nvidia 6800 Ultra, 256MB

Now the monitor works at post for the ASUS with a 4MB PCI video capture card and the ECS works at post with am AGP 128MB Nvidia 5200. These are both inferior cards so i don't really want to have to swap them in and out every time i want to change a BIOS setting.

Has anyone else encountered this issue and is there any way of changing the resolution and frequency of the screen at POST? Maybe a BIOS setting, or some driver setting?
