I did a search but couldnt find anything relevent. Can someone recommend a router to connect two computers to Wireless broadband ?

I would like to be able to connect 3 devices (Xbox,Laptop,Desktop) and also have the ability for wireless. I have a Netgear 108Mbs WG511T Wireless card for the laptop.

    Thanks for the help !

What service are you using and what kind of box / connection have you? Some routers with WiFi are specific to particular kinds of Broadband service.

If it Digiweb metro, or IBB rip wave etc, an adsl port router is no use at all. You will need one with a separate Ethernet port to the local LAN ethernet ports.

For about the price of the Linksys you can get a model with 108 / 125Mbps support as well as 1, 2, 5, 11, 22, 54 Mps.

Note that a wireless (WiFi) connection to a lap top goes about 1/3rd the speed of cabled ethernet of same Mbps. Divide your WiFI Mbps by (3 x number of Wifi laptops / PCs) assuming distance short enough for the higher speed. With walls, interference etc even 54, 108 and 125 units may drop down to 5Mbps or 11Mbps.

If you are on dsl (and dont have plans to move to cable) then it might be worth looking at an all in one model (with modem included) these can be much easier to set up - something like the netgear DG 834GT should be fine and match your laptop card -

    http://www.netgear.co.uk/extra/h_wirelessrouter_dg834gt.php

you can often find these sold as bundles with a wireless card or more often a usb thingy which would do our pc.

On the other hand if you do want to go with just a router then something like the netgear wgt 624 should do you fine and will work with both dsl or cable http://www.netgear.co.uk/extra/h_wirelessrouter_wgt624.php

There's loads of information and reviews here if you want to get some more information:

and keep in mind too that wireless equipment is very unpredictable in behaviour and that you will get people praising Netgear equipment and damning Linksys and vice versa (and similarly for other manufacturers)

I with Net1 wireless broadband. Is the Linksys Wireless-G Broadband Router 54 Mbps 802.11g SpeedBooster,WPA,QoS,4P sw compatable ?

I think he is on Wireless, not cable or DSL

Will work with ANY broadband system that has an ethernet modem (IBB ripwave with USB can be swapped by IBB for free to Ethernet version) by connecting the separate Ethernet port on the Router. Your other equipment (Printers, PCs, Xbox, PS2 etc) connect to the other 4 Ethernet sockets and any Wifi / Wireless PC /Laptop etc via the wireless at up to 108Mbps.

Many suppliers sell these. I have always found DLINK stuff works fine. (I have 4 different WiFi Dlink products here and network cards over 10 years old too).
