Device Driver Not Found: Mscd001

    DEVICE DRIVER NOT FOUND: MSCD001
    NO VALID CDROM DEVICE DRIVERS SELECTED


    Lads getting the above error, basically trying to install win 98 on an old dell PC, but when i use the boot disk i get the above error

    Anybody any ideas around this before i go mad

    You'll need to get a CD-ROM boot disk.....lots of places on the net to get em.....I can't be bothered googlin for ya....but they're out there

    hmmm - i tried something similar, basically i got the atapi cd rom setup and copied it into the boot disk and then when i got to dos prompt ran the setup, i restarted but to no joy(i actually copied the boot file to the c: drive specifically so it'd pick it up

    But i'll try your way, think it might be the same thing though
