I think we will all agree that is a sick amount of exams.I suppose the UCD eng courses are the best in the country and are really tough but come on!!

Looks like 3rd year to me. Sure there's plenty of time left provided you get a good study routine going. Don't panic etc. etc.

In trinity I had 13 exams some years.

A Trinity degree is just as good as a UCD one. Very little difference between them.

I thought Eng were splitting the exams between summer and christmas now. I had 3 at christmas, and a further 10 in summer in my final year of elec in UCD.

God, I love being finished, April is such a pretty month. It's nice not to have to spend every waking hour of it studying, or just knowing I should be studying.

    Best of luck

That'd just be Electronic / Electrical Czar. It will eventually be in for everyone due to semesterisation but for the moment it's a ridiculously long Christmas break for most. Although 3rd Year Eng Comp was a christmas exam last year and will most likely be from now on. There may also be one "token" exam at Christmas for some other years and Schools (I really mean "Departments" but that's a banned word in UCD these days which makes if very difficult to describe exactly what you mean  )

Obviously some college will excel in certain streams, but the best University for engineering in the country is recognised as U.L

I have been lead to believe from from former students that TCD's engineering degree isn't particularly rounded and focuses far too much on theory.

You can say that about "the trinity engineering degree", since theres lots of variance

I'd have heard similiar, specifically about EE. The insider's word is that there were problems with employment out of EE TCD because of this a few years ago because of this, but that the curriculum was revised to include more practical, industry focused material.

I've also heard that the UL is highly practical in EE - suffering somewhat in the theoretical stakes. But they have a very good balance for working in industry, which is the goal for the majority of undergraduates.
