Wireless AP Router w/4-Port Switch 802.11b/g

Above are two Wireless AP's by Linksys, but i cannot seem to assertain the differnce. both almost have the same functionality with b/g & 4 etherent ports etc...
Why is one called a Router & the other an AP, do they both not do the same job??

As I understand it in very simplistic terms a router actually routes information between networks or between your pc and a network.

A wireless access point will allow access wirelessly to an existing network which will have a router in there doing the hardwork of guiding the information around. (I emphasise this is a very simplistic understanding)
