You're right, it IS of interest on it's own!

Where did you find the schedule?

If you haven't seen House before, I'd recommend it !

I have my sources. They call it a book of wisdom. Some the Bible of Irish TV.

    It has one name

    The RTE Guide

Book of Cable, Digital and Satellite 79 and 85 as part of the Varations section :)

    Gypsy Media's "DigiGuide" doesn't have Ch6 yet...

However I found "Reality Extra", now added to my PC EPG.

House seems most likely to be the one thing I'll watch on 6

I contacted them about it a couple of days ago and got the following reply from Ian -

"I spoke to them this morning about adding Channel 6 to DigiGuide. Unfortunately it looks like we will not be able to get schedule information from them prior to their launch but we are working on it."

So hopefully we'll see them added to the line-up soon.

Channel 6 Preview has sound. No Pictures. Is this a mistake?

Hopefully they will be more consistant with L&O and CSI then RTE.

    Irish Show:-

    Take 6 - Movie show
    Popscene - Interactive music show
    NightShift - Alternative music show
    Access Hollywood - Entertainment show
    And an orginal chat show??????

As long as that eejit darragh purcell isn't presenting anything, i'll watch it.

I'll only get subtitles and teletext, if they have them.

Is he the guy that used to present "Pop on 3" on TV3 back when TV3 was in its infancy?

That's the one. He's one of the creators of Channel 6 :(

The Irish Times Magazine not only also has the Channel 6 schedule, but is listing it alongside the terrestrials! Hmm...

The episodes of Dawson's Creek, Buffy, Star Trek TNG, and Fraiser on Friday are all the pilots. Probably the most US TV pilots shown in one go in my experience...

If both "Popscene" and "The Late Music Show" are not simply non-stop pop videos, I'll eat my hat...

What's the point in showing TNG at midnight? It's been repeated to death on Sky One at a reasonable hour.

You sure Daragh purcell has something to do with Channel Six? It's the first time I have heard that name mentioned.

There where a few TV3 people involved but they where Managers of TV3 not presenters.

If it is the case the Late Night Music Show will be presented by him. :(

I was think the same ala Popcorn, 3 Cubed and that other TV3 show (what did they call it?) it was replaced by Popcorn.

Why not? I mean the 4 main UK channels still get their schedule beside the irish channels. It's only in the last while that TG4 have got their schedule beside TV3 in many newspapers.

    Who are the presenters?

Brian Devereux will present Popscene, Michelle doherty(One of the gals who was in the hunky dorys billboard campaign a while ago) Will present Nightshift and Jenny Buckly will present the Access hollywood programme. They are all pictured in todays sunday independent. Daragh Purcell never had any set up involvement with the channel either, you are correct elmo. He was in as a consultant for the late night music programme though as it is alternative music as opposed to main stream.

Does nebody not tink their schedule is crap? Lets face it another station set up to sell adverts

    Any other presenters on board?

Who will present the movie show, the fashion show and the Chat show?

Thanks for the other presenters. They should be advertising them as much as their US shows.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,641 ✭✭✭✭Elmo

Its not as bad as I thought it would be. They need more newer shows and more orginal Irish TV shows.

But yes they are here to make money first and then make some TV.

Oh! I have been saying that about TV3 for too long.

Can't make TV without money... *shrug*

The Presenter of the movie prog is Taragh Loughrey Grant from FM104s Shobiz Prog and the other presenters cannot be named yet!

All presenters will be flooding the press from today!

Would it not be up to C6's Press dept to make their presenters known?

Do they actually have a chat show up and running yet?

I think they may find the chat show market currently flooded

    The Late Late
    Tubirty
    Rodge and Podge
    Brendan Courtney

Rodge and Podge are going through guests really quickly.

Oh maybe C6 will bring back a chat show like the Panel :) without the big names of course.

Note how all those chat shows are quite awful, though. RTÉ still haven't realised that good radio presenters RARELY make good TV presenters (Tubridy on 2fm in the mornings was about 500 million times better than that fooking waste of space Marty Wheelan, and I don't know how Pat's even allowed to be on TV), and I still wonder why that Podge & Rodge talkshow even exists...
