Sewing a butten back onto Combats

    Right, so I know jack all about sewing. What I need to know is can you get a good strong black tread to reattach a butten back onto Moleskin combats. Dont want the damned thing coming off again :D

    Go into hickeys or local haberdashery...

    Ok well I only know about the Dublin ones.... theres a hickeys on Henry St. and one in the Stephens Green Shopping Centre [bottom floor near the back afaik]

    Make sure you ask for strong thread. It is kept seperately from the normal thread.

    When you sew it on, you'd probably be best to "shank" it at the end. You sew the button on as normal, then before you cut the thread you wrap it around the threads you just sewed on the underside of the button, between the button and the top side of the material. This just keeps them all together and makes it stronger.
