    Hi guys,

I'm trying to figure out my wedding budget so if you could provide some answers to the question, I'd appreciate it.

I don't want to do things by halves, but I don't want to get ripped off either.

    Cheers,
    H.

We went on all inclusive to malta for about 1200 altoghter, meals transfers, the lot. Lovely spot, prices vary depends where ur going, standard of accomodation, what u want to spend, and time of year.

You could get to the caneries for less then 500 euro.

depends on what you want i guess.

    check here http://www.cancun.com/Hotels/Dreams_Cancun/

this is where i want to go in september, budget travel do a package to it all inclusive for €1500.00 for 2 weeks. when you go onto the site select virtual tours and it will show you around the hotel. and the reviews are great.

I'd say much depends on the time of the year. We went to Croatia for two weeks, which is beautiful and reasonably priced. The islands, the old cities like Split and Dubrovnik, great place for romantic strolls. Hvar is just stunning. We did a two destination trip, a week on an island and a week in Dalmatia. Highly recommend it.

    c. 30-40cc a day for the first week, then a bit less. Depends on the weather really.

    When you're spent, you're spent.

    Oh wait, you meant money?

    ps 10cc were boasting.

OP where were you thinking of going for your honeymoon, and you just looking to do a bog standard honeymoon i.e. sit on the beach while not in your room or are you looking to do something different. At that point people will be better able to give you idea of what the cost maybe

i'll give you one piece of advice...dont tell the travel agent its for your honeymoon or they will bump up the price....happened to a friend of mine who got married last year.

he rang the travel agent and organised the whole thing ..was given a price and when he mentioned that it seemed pretty reasonable for his honeymoon the travel agent said she had over looked something and would have to call him back ...she came back and the price had risen!!

Sorry but thats c**p they cant charge higher then advertised because its a honeymoon, infact you usually get extras. Do tell them, alot of places upgrade ur room and give u champagne on arrival, and stuff like that.

i did an over night in london in a 4* hotel, 4 nights in miami in a 4* hotel, a 7 day carribean cruise and then flew to new york for 4 nights in a 4* hotel for 4.5k. fantastic value for all we did. highly recommend it.

What you spend is dependent on what you want and your budget. Just because somebody's daughter is squandering 10k on a 3-week safari and beach holiday doesn't mean that you have to do the same.

All I would say is that you're probably only going to have one honeymoon (hopefully....:p ) so put some thought into what you both would like. I would advise somewhere that you can relax because you'll be knackered after the wedding & associated stresses!

FYI, we went to the US - 4 nights in NYC, a week on Cape Cod & 3 nights in Boston including nice hotels and a car on the Cape cost us €3,100 excl. of spendies

We are flying to Bora Bora for 8 days, and then for a 12 more days to New Zealand.

All in 5star Hotels, and it will cost us around 8K. Most expensove are the flights, as it is in every sense at the end of the world.

Going on mine in August. Spent €15k.

3 week trip: Sydney, Great Barrier Reef, then Tokyo.

€6k for all flights on Travelocity (dub to syd, syd to ciarns, cairns to tokyo, tokyo to dub). €3.5k on hotels (avg €160 pn on www.hotels.com), and remaining to spend @ approx €250-€300 per day.

Arranged ours on the net for mid August this year. Flying via London to Ljubljana. Three nights at Lake Bled. Four nights in Ljubljana. A week in Rovinj on the Istrian coast in Croatia. Final night in Venice and flying back from there via London. Top class hotels all the way (Tripadvisor proving invaluable as always). Total cost for the two of us approx. €2700.

I'll second that, they can't change their brochure prices. When I went on my honeymoon the travel agent included that as a note for the 2 hotels we stayed in, we were upgraded in one and given a nice $150 bottle of Champagne in the other.

I think what the poster meant was that "advertised" honeymoon packages are genrally a rip off. And that is true for most "high street" travel agents.

We went around the world on our honeymoon at the start of this year. Dublin - Hong Kong (3 nights) - Cairns (6 nights) - Sydney (4 nights) - Melbourne (4 nights) - Hawaii (4 nights) - L.A. (4 nights). I havn't had the balls to work out how much it cost all in but it was over 20K. We had just sold our house so we said feck it.. we might as well. It was a trip of a lifetime and my parents paid for our flights as a wedding present.

How much should you spend? You should spend as much as you want and a s much as your budget will allow. But remember whereever you go, make it the trip of a lifetime.

    Did mine 2004.

3 nights bangkok, 7 nights koh phi phi, 4 nights koh samui, 3 nights hong kong , 5 nights dubai

We booked accomodation as we went in Thailand. About 30 quid a night for own private beach bungalow.

Flights were 750 each from london with emirates. Had to internal flight from bangkok-krabi-samuis-bangkok. Cost 100 euro. Also ryanair flight to london cost 50.

Then accomodation in hong kong is 99 a night. And same in Dubai.

Cost about 3 grand plus spedning money. But as we spent most time in Thailand it was very cheap.
