    Sorry, dunno where else to put this

    Anywyas, i have 5.1 speakers and card n all, and its worked grand for ages.

    However, now when i play music it only comes out the central speaker and the front two.
    The back 2 make no noise

    I know theyre not broken, cause if i go inot the creative "speaker calibrator" i can test them etc and sound actually comes from them

    It just seems to be when playing music and doing normal stuff at the PC.

    My speaker settings are set to 5.1 in hte control panel aswell

    Anyone got any ideas ?

    im guessin u have a creative sound card... u need to go into the same thing you did to test them and set it as 5.1 speakers instead of 2.1(which it is probable set as..)

    Stat=>sounds and aduio=>aduio=>advanced

    In there check what speaker setup you have.

    I've found in the past that my system changes back to 2.1 for some reason every now and agaim

    I read this as you had it set as 5.1 in the control panel when you first set it up but as I said some times it reverts back with me.

    Another thing to check is that the plugs are clean. If there not it usually means poor quality sound but never heard it stoping sound.

    I also found that if I was playing say a dvd the dvd program had to be set to 5.1 as well. Might be the same here?
