Doherty overtakes O'Sullivan in provisionals

Doherty is into the QF's of the China open with a 5-2 win over Walden today. Ronnie got knocked out 5-0 by Wattana in the first round (wasn't worth his while turning up). Because of that Ken is now a provisional 3rd in the world with Ronnie in 4th.

Fair play to Doherty for getting himself back up the rankings but O'Sullivan has been playing terrible snooker of late. I don't think that break would have been a bad a idea. Higgins and Doherty are definitely the form players in what hasn't really been a great season.

And Higgins and Doherty meet for the 3rd time this season:

    J Higgins (Sco) 5-2 J Perry (Eng)
    S Lee (Eng) 2-5 K Doherty (Ire)

Nice to see Ken in the semis. He seems to be coming back to form, and just before the Worlds too!

The fact that no one person or a group of people dominate the game anymore means that if you can win one tournement and do well in the rest you're gonna do very well in the rankings...

All we need is for Ken to win the World Championship and become number 1 - then I'll be happy. Come on Ken!
