Has anyone else received an invite from google to try Google pages?

If so what do ye think?

I think the subdomain is a good idea (username.googlepages.com), and the tool they have for building the site online is probably the best I've seen as far as online site builders is concerned, plus 100mb is not bad for free webspace. There are some bugs and it looks like there are some missing features, I don't see yahoo with an equivalent though.*

*mods if this is inappropriate etc. feel free to relocate etc.

^ I can't say that I've read much past the initial blurb; but it looks / sounds better. (The free version that is. I can't see why anyone would pay *boggle*)

Yahoo wouldn't seem to be competing in this area yet?

Google are not offering the same as MS, based on the MS website:
    Your own domain name
    (for example, ***.com)
    Easy-to-use design tools
    Five e-mail accounts
    Web site traffic reports

But google seem to have an offer that the average punter on the street will find more attractive if you know what I mean. i.e. similar to other google products it is more UI friendly for the average punter.

Yahoo have (the awful, sh1tty) geocities, so I guess that's their offering.
