It's a slightly warm orange sky, an hour before sundown,it's an avarage irish day, your bored and sitting at home thinking to yourself "I've nothing much to do", so you go grab your kit, and head out on a photo session, not neccessarily planning anyware inparticular to go, just seeing where the eye takes you.

What kit would you take with you, and why?

all of it... because I can! :D

Ya just never know what you're going to run into these days. I've found myself more often than not cursing that I left my 10-20 at home and other days pissed off because I don't have anything longer than 70mm at my disposal.

Good day - Canon 1000Fn with slide film, or a lowish ISO (depending). 18 - 55mm lens, 35 - 105mm and a 70 - 300mm lens. Covering the ranges, and hopefully get some nice effects with the slides. Possibly my monopod. Lomo Fisheye. Possibly the Holga...depends on what could be around.

    Then again...If I'm broke, I'll take out my 300D...

I might just do that this evening, I'm planning to go to Greystones and take some sunset pictures at the Marina. Hoping for a nice sky....
As I don't have much kit yet, I'll bring it all. EOS 350D, 18-55mm lens and a tripod. I'd bring my 50mm prime as well, but it's still waiting for me in Holland with my parents till I go there and pick it up.

Hi, been lurking for a while now so I gues it's time to contribute...

350D, with grip, Sigma 10-20, 18-125, 70-300, polariser, tripod, cable release, spare batteries, money for a pint on the way home.

I think I'd take everything also... Don't have much kit yet anyway:

    - Nikon D50, Nikon 18-55mm lens, Sigma 70-300mm lens
    - Manfrotto tripod (I have yet to use it...)

    I'd take everything too...

    Nikon D70s,
    - 50mm f1.8
    - 70mm-300mm f3.5-f5.5
    - 28mm-100mm f3.5-f4.5

Tripod if I could be bothered to carry it :)

    S.

Seeing as I still havn't got alot of kit yet, I'd probably take the Canon 300D, 18-55, 28-300 sigma, bge1 grip and batterys.

Don't think I'd want to carry the tripod unless I brought the car, then everything would more or less come!

Seeing alot of people are favouring the 50mm prime - think thats a next investment for me!

I wouldn't mind asking this guy the same question just for a laugh:

I hope he doesn't get mugged though... He's probably carrying about 30K of stuff!

Aarrgghh.... Irish weather... seems like I have to postpone my trip  This morning it was sunny and it seemed like a good idea at the time. Ah well... another evening to spend at home and bore myself to sleep.

    Wtf???

Where'd you get that photo of me? :p

That photo must be a joke? If you could afford that gear you could afford to pay a guy/gal to help you..........

and perhaps afford the bionic legs it'd take to hold all the weight of it... Actually... maybe those kneepads are bionic kneecaps? Looks like he's on a golf course; that'd explain the kneepads but doesn't really explain how he was let in with all that crap hanging off him. Only golf photographers I've ever seen seem to be able to restrict themselves to one body with a very long lens and another with something like a 70-200. Probably just a poser :D

Yeah, when I was working the European opens, photographers were only allowed a certain amount of kit in. And there was a HELL of a lot of security as regards noise.

(Before I post this...by work, I mean I was doing the leaderboard not doing photography :P ) (yet)
