A former Waterford butcher was accused of 'wasting court time' in the High Court in Dublin

The accusation was made by Mr. Justice O’ Donovan during a hearing on the proposed sale of the North Quays by the Port of Waterford Company.

Thomas Griffin of Blackfriars, Waterford accepted that he has a “history of nigh on 2 decades of being a nuisance to the High Court”.

The Judge said he had dealt with a number of people like Mister Griffin over the years, but the Waterford man the first to admit it.

Griffin made the statement during an application for a judicial review into the proposed sale of the North Quays by the Port of Waterford Company.

His complaint related to the manner in which tender documents for the sale of the property were distributed

He claimed that when he received the tender document it was too late for him to put a bid together.

Justice O’ Donovan however said that Mr Griffins affidavit did not make a lot of sense to him.

When asked what he does for a living Mr Griffin replied that he “has thrown away his life for the last 20 years trying to protect a place of living”.

When asked if he could have matched the €32million offered for the property,

Mr Griffin replied that he couldn’t

Refusing his application Justice O Donovan ordered that Mr Griffin pay the
Port of Waterford’s legal costs which WLR FM understand to be in the region of €20,000.

Haven't we enough in Brendan McCann?Let's hope they don't hook up.
