Sweet, Im thinking of getting an ultra wide lense too, this one has been high up on the list or maybe's, will you give us a review of it with some photos after you have it for a few days?

    how much was it?

Getting it for 500 new, I was offered a Tokina 12-24mm here in Waterford for 590, open for haggeling, but tbh, this has a better ap, better focal length and it's a sigma, not that there's anything wrong with tokina, I know of some photographers that swear by them!

I'll give it a review, I'll take a few night shots when I get home tomorrow, and I'll be doing a few portraits for a chap and his kid, so I might ask if he'd be my guinea pig for this too... Mmmm...Ultra wide portraits.... :D

Now I have to save up for a zigviewer.... :(

If you haven't bought, read this: http://www.kenrockwell.com/tech/digital-wide-zooms/comparison.htm
(I realize some people hate this guy with a vengeance, it's just a handy comparison - always read around!)

    Otherwise enjoy. :p

The Tokina has better aperture by the way. It's a constant F/4 where as the Sigma is F/4-5.6. I'm considering one of these myself - the Tokina, possibly. I need to win the lottery already. :)

I "stole" the sigma from a friend, now he wants it back and I can't seem to part with it...I love it, crisp, smooth, not too heavy but feels good quality. Guess I need to try the tokina to do a fair comparison.

Just got it today, love it already!

Halenger, I had the Tokina yesterday, lovely lens, I have to say, but I really do prefer the 10-20! It's a good review alright, though as he said it really is the widest!

I'll stick up some random shots from today when I get a chance, and there'll be one or two more tomorrow when I try it for portraits...test the water :D

Bah, these are just three crap examples, I have't had a chance to do anything decent with it yet other than... "ooooooh wide"

    Taken at 20mm.

    20mm again.

Taken at 10mm, about 3 inches from young Trevors face.

    Warning:I haven't resized them yet - Lets hope you're using Firefox :P

More @ 10mm........... If its not too much bother, Id love some indoor shots to see how much of a room it can take in?

The portraits today were a no go, rescheduled to next week. I haven't had a chance to take any decent ones yet, nevermind indoor ones! :(

The best way to describe it is, your eye can see at 180 degree's (Which is typically a fisheye, though they are usually about 175), this has an angle of 102 degree's at 10mm. It's quite a lot, considering that a 28mm lens usually has about a 70 degree, and a 70mm has about a 35 degree...telephoto's are more along the lines of 12 degree's... If you understand that! :o

Also, on the Sigma website it specifies that it's built for digital SLR's, I popped it onto my analogue, and got some lovely rounded borders at 10mm. Should look quite nice with sensia 400 when the weather comes round! ;) Even nicer with a rounded rectangle with the lens hood on.
