Setanta widescreen (not yet)

    Just asked Setanta why they don't broadcast in widescreen via NTL Digital - below is the response:
    As the bulk of our programming is not filmed in widescreen, there are no plans to transmit in widescreen just yet, however this situation may change as technology progresses.

    BTW a similar query to TV3 (since they are now widescreen on Sky) received no response.

    hmmmm let me see. premiership soccer widescreen feed available. national league gaelic also widescreen ( see sunday sport on rte widescreen feed) scottish premiership has been filmed in widescreen I think but they are unable to use it due to Scottish tv not having the facility. So they could broadcast some of their stuff in widescreen. Probably dont want to bother really.

    Yes, technically superior broadcasting doesn't seem to be on their agenda!

    I've seen RealPlayer clips that look better than Setanta does!
