Well? Who e-mailed him? He didn't say.

EDIT: For those that didn't hear, he read out an e-mail from someone saying boards was a better way of meeting people than bebo.

In what context did he mention it?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,801 ✭✭✭✭Kojak

Does it matter who e-mailed him - the important thing is that boards.ie can now use this bit of media exposure to further its worldwide objectives. ;)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,659 ✭✭✭Shabadu

It was a great plug, whoever sent it. "From politics to music, boards is the best place to get a conversation going" etc. Can't remember the rest, but good going whoever you are!

Oh no! All the names will be taken if we're not careful! We'd better start deleting inactive members who don't forward this message on to 1000 people.

We will, someday take over Ireland. Our opinions will rule over the Dail.
We will be mentioned in every speech in the government buildings.

Soon we will have our own TV channel aswell.

    Huh?

That person needs to get a life. It's a fecking website, albeit a good one, but it's no substitute for meeting people.

I've met quite a few cool people through this place so it's true. Although, the thought of Ray D'Arcy using this site is creepy - he's a muppet imho!

Don't hear him, no radio at work, but the wife thinks he's FANTASTIC. She could be in love with him. The only other deejay who she remotely likes is Tom Dunne.

Boards seems to have a direct affect on me getting new pals, few great ones, people to live with, places to drink and things to buy and sell. Take that bebo, you wannabe boards you!

EDIT: BTW, I think Ray D'arcy is a muppet too.

Ray Darcy is a muppet:eek: All those years watching The Den when I was meant to be in college, I thought Zig & Zag were the muppets and he was the real one! How wrong I was.

Why does everything i like suddenly get popular, its like The White Stripes all over again.

In the future i'll have to pretend i dont go on the boards just to stay ahead of the mass consumer culture that eventually, engulfs everything, leaving me sad.

Pity its Darcy, why couldn't we get a cool sponsor, like Keith Richards.

OKGo are a band and the video to their song "A Million Ways to be Cruel" is the most downloaded music video ever on the internet.

Why exactly is Ray Darcy a muppet? What has he done on anyone? I dont listen to his show meself but it amazes me how people can take a disliking to someone they've most likely never met just because he happens to be doing well for himself. In any shows I see Darcy in he seems very down to earth and doesnt appear to have any kind of Fair City ego, the You're A Star joke is probably just another job to him and he's about the only decent thing about the show so what makes him a muppet?

he dose seem to be a total muppet at times but then again we all have are moments . i think he dose diserve recognition for the work he dose to help people out and recently to get adverts for drink driving etc..

he might not be the most entertaining person in the world but hes not self centered

someone sent him a msg about bebo and how popular it was , there was also an article in the examiner about it today i think, so he had never heard about it.

lots of people started sending in msg's about how good/bad bebo/myspace is.
someone txted/emailed in then about boards.ie and how good it was.

i was driving at the time i heard it and started skitting, other drivers were looking at me strange.

i knew this palce was full of sad tossers.

But now after finding out someone actually emailed the Ray d'arcy show to say how this was a better place to meet people then bebo...christ.

This place has a new low, i didnt think this place even could hit a new low.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,474 ✭✭✭YeatsCounty

Ray D'Arcy has done nothing to be labelled a "muppet". I haven't heard his show in over a year though, so I'm not too sure about what he's like now. I do know that he did a hell of a lot of whinging about mundane subjects for a good while before that. Middle age seemed to have hit him like a tonne of bricks....

I despise those messages even more than the chain ones.

"Forward this on to 50 people in the next 5 minutes or you will not be happy in any relationship with your boyfriend/girlfriend for the next 25 YEARS!!!!!!"

Cheers for the warning but if I did have a girlfriend, then I'm sure that I wouldn't be very happy, what with my wife leaving me because if that and all.

Remember that muppet = "not like me who hangs around on the Internet all day"

Ray's good fun. The default here is attack anyone famous because they don't leech off their Mammy and Daddy's Internet connection.

I use that excuse a lot. It makes me so endearing.
It also got me out of jury duty. (:
