Questions about the fitz Bad Beat jackpot

Just wondering what the story is with this? Does the whole 13000 (i think thats the figure written on the board in the lobby) get paid out to somebody when they suffer a bad beat when holding full house KKK1010 or better? I know both players have to be using their two hole cards.
Must the player who loses have been ahead at some stage in the hand? eg if they hold 99 and the flop comes KK9 turn x river 9 and their quad 9's lose to quad K's would they be ineligible for the jackpot due to the fact they were always behind?
How is the money generally split between bad beat victim/inflicter/dealer/table?
    Does the omaha table qualify?
Lot of questions I know but just curious.

The money gets split 50-25-25 between the losing hand, the winning hand, and the rest of the table. The dealer gets tipped at the discretion of the players.

The qualifying hand is AAAJJ or better in hold'em, 2222 in Omaha. Both players must be using both hole cards; if the losing hand is a full house in hold'em, one of the aces must be in your hand. No, you don't have to have been ahead at some point in the hand.

    Hope this answers your questions.

this only applies to cash games by the way, just in case you didnt realise.

    cheers.
    two more questions.
How long since it was won?
how does it grow? (where does the jackpot money come from?)
In the extremely unlikely event it ever happened to me, what would an appropriate %tip to the dealer be? (its good to know these things...you never know when it will come in handy

depends ussaully is won every week,
its grown by the rake players are charged for it.
5% is the ussuall tip but its up to you

It does not come from the rake. In addition to the rake, €1 per pot over €20 is taken for the bad beat jackpot. 5% of what you win sounds good for a tip. If the jackpot is 13k it probably hasnt been won in a month or more.

Have you read the great ultimate bad beat story with a bad beat jackpot that was in Bluff magazine? I recommend doing so:

If both hands were turned over at showdown then it doesn't matter that the hands were subsequently mucked.

She showed her hand before they hit the muck. she won the pot. after wining a pot you throw your cards to the others.

mucked or not if she claimed the pot then surely the bad beat stands. i don't really get it. maybe she showed a couple of bystanders the KK then mucked and forfeited the pot in the process. seems more likely.

Doesn't the BBJ have to be confirmed with the cardroom manager?
Trying to think what would happen if the same situation occurred in the Fitz (apart from the swearing and fighting obviously).

if everyone including the dealer has seen the hand then surely they could be removed from the muck. if the cardroom manager needed more than eyewitness verification there's always the cameras.

I though it might be a real bad beat story.

Like KK v AA v JQ hearts

Board KKA (AK hearts). River (not the turn, mind) is the ten of hearts.

It happens on PokerStarts every night. :p
