Looking for someone from Great Southern Tae Kwon Do.

Hi Everyone,

Is there anybody from Great Southern Tae Kwon-Do here or/and does anybody know this guy? I think (but may be wrong) he’s from GST. He was a competitor in the World Championship last year in Cardiff. I was also there and now I'm looking for some information about him and his team.

Let me know a little more, of course if there’s any possibility.

Yep I've met him before, He's with Kinsale Taekwon-Do. His name escapes me at the minute but I'll find out for you.

Ya! Thats Liam Corkery!

But he's not with GSTKD anymore!!

I was teaching at a seminar camp he was also teaching at last year so I know he is still training!!

I think that they sometimes also train in the UCC TKD club, so maybe they might be able to put you in contact with him. That was a couple of years ago though.

That would be Liam Corkery alright. Know him well.

Would be affiliated to my instructors club. My instructor used be with GST but split and went independant before Christmas, he is now ITF.

If you want details about Mr Corkery's club I can PM you his details??

EDIT: Sorry.... I now see that Paul has already posted his weblink for ya!!! Anyway, have fun contacting him. Lovely chap Mr Corkery.

YEP! Thats the guy! IUTF met his Kinsale TKD team in the finals of the Celtic Cup last year. Good solid sparrer too.
His group are with the ITF through East Coast TKD.

Ms Hyde please see PM I have sent you. perhaps my instructor will be able to help you. As our clubs are affiliated.

I don't really know him that well I guess, but I have meet him at various events, and in fact I first met him in Holland when I competed in the EU champs with GST in 2004. I was a yellow belt at the time.

Mr Corkey is a 2nd Dan, and would run Kinsale TKD club with Mr Stuart Ahern also a 2nd Dan. Perhap you couold google his name also and see what you find.

Just a quick queation for you. You say you are with IUTF, just curious but where you in attendance at the IUTF open competition held in Cork city in November 2004? I would have competed at that.

Anyway, cool to hear that Mr Corkery is gonna make a guest appearance here on boards. Perhaps he won't mind me saying that he's a hard man to track down!!! LOL

I was in the adults section, and would have been a yellow belt at the time (graded for my blue belt on Sunday evening). It was points sparring, and if I recall I was weighing in at over 75kg.... I'm a big lad!!! We would've competed under GST at the time!!

Nope..... We split from GST before Christmas, and are now with ITF.

Hi Liam,

How are you keeping? Hope you enjoy the training weekend this weekend coming (I assume you'll be at it). Unfortunately i won't be attending as I have college exams fast approaching. If I had been attending i would have made you aware of Ms Hyde trying to contact you myself in person. Not to worry as she has found you now..... and your by all means a hard man to track down too. LOL

I hope you'll continue to visit this forum, always good to have persons i know posting here and getting in on the discussions.
