Any advice as to where I should buy a good gaming rig?

And please don't offer me any 'make it yourself' advice, that kind of jazz is beyond me.

pay someone to make it for you? I'd do it for €50 on top of what parts cost ya. Good gaming PC's are generally best done the DIY route, unless you have a good bit of spare cash. :p

Check out alienware for good gaming pc's, but they cost a bomb.

Was thinking of going down the Alienware route... Bastards... With their high quality, yet equally high priced machines...

Yeah you don't really have the kind of boutique builders that you can buy from in the US like Voodoo PC and MainGear so you have less options on that front. Personally I'd stay the hell away from Dell XPS systems if you dont plan to format the machine and do a clean install of the OS.

If you want a straight up gaming PC no frills then OcUK sell pre-built systems that they will ship to you.
    http://www.overclockers.co.uk/acatalog/full_systems.html

You can see a variety of machine's at different price points with the OS being optional for some.

Cheers, I've heard good things about Overclockers. They'll merit a look alright.

Give Komplett a look over. I'm changing my PC this year and am pretty sure I'll get it from here. Look for their custom-build options, then basically ramp up everything that games need - RAM, processor, video card etc.

What exactly is your budget? I mean don't expect to get a decent prebuilt gaming rig nowadays for less than €1500 Minimum. Do you just need the Computer, or do you need Monitor, etc...

Here are 2 I know of besides alienware:
    meshcomputers
    pctorque

I know your not so interested in making it yourself, but seriously it's the way to go, and its easy.

Go for my rig, it's sexy and it works real well.

    post is here.

It cost 2000 , without a monitor, doesnt have SLI, but apart from that I reckon it makes a decent gaming machine.
