I don't think you can get scratches off cd's even with those kits? unless the cleaner actually fills in the scratch mark with the damaged/missing combinations of 1 and 0's... They are for when you want to get marks and sticky stuff off the disks without using your t-shirt....

You can try using washing up liquid and cold water on this disk with your bare hands under the faucet,. Make sure you dry it thoroughly before putting it back into anything though.

I saw this gadget on Max TV (Channel 669) on Sky about two weeks ago that actually sands the Cd thus removing all the nicks and scratches and after if is scanned it is buffed to a shine, and apparently is as good as new. It appears to be good as they demonstrated it on TV anyway. I suppose there is somewhere where you can get a CD done too only I'm not sure where. I guess there should be one in our great Capital.

[EDIT] If it is the way that you want to get some music off a CD, I once had a CD that was totally unplayable on anything, However my old PS1 seemed to be able to play anything no matter how damaged it was, You could get a PS1 and capture the sound Audacity and burn them onto a new CD or Ipod etc. [EDIT]
