Just wondering as you often hear stories about players playing sessions that go on for days with no sleep. I dont know how they could do it. So whats the longest session you ever played?

Last year at the WSOP I was staying at the Orleans Hotel/casino (great poker room). A friend Stephen "megs" Dunphy decided to come at the last minute. I offered to share my room as he had nothing booked.
He was drawn for the second day of the main event. I was playing day 3, but I accompanied him for the support. We arrived at Harrahs @ 10.30 a.m and tournament started @ 11.00 ish(maybe 11.10). Stephen was playing a solid game throughout. At about 11 that night I left Harrahs and hit the bar in the Orleans. Stephen was comfortable, just over the average stack when I left. I hit the sack @ 1.00 a.m and checked AntesUp and Stephen seemed to be still there.
I woke up at about 6ish and no sign of Stephen. I thought the guy has got through and is gone on the piss as qualifiers from day 2 would have a day off.
I re-awoke @ 10, still no sign of Megs. I'm beginning to be concerned. I called into Pat O C's room next door. His reply was "this is vegas man". O.k, but I still thought it was strange. I had my breakfast, and as I was heading out the rear door of the Orleans, I noticed Stephen in the Pokerroom. He cashed out and headed down to Harrahs with me. This was 10.40. I said where the f0ck were you, and are you through to day 2. Oh yea ,he said, I've 35k we did'nt finish till nearly 3 and then I decided to unwind with a cash game.
15 hours @ the main event wsop immediately followed by 8 hours at a cash game. Thats what I call a session.

It was a winning session, though not a very big one. I started on saturday afternoon in a fitz freeroll, then played the cash game directly after that, and the round-of-each tournament at 8:30. when I got knocked out of that I got into the omaha cash game which I played until 6 or 7 in the morning, then went from the club to a friends flat for some more cash action. We stopped for lunch around 1:00, but then resumed and continued to play until the sunday free-roll started at 6:30. I busted out of that, sat into the round-of-each cash game and left for the last bus home about 11.

for all of that I was only up a couple of hundred euro.

    I felt extremely tired.

I've done 12 hours live - 3 1/2 tournament and the rest a stud game - I was absolutely shattered after it. And stud takes a sh1tload of concentration.

late december i arrived at this fitz at 4 for the freeroll to their first 500 game, made the final table on this b4 busting out, str8 into a satellite, 3rd, another satellite 2nd, bought in anyway and finished up with a 4 way deal at 5.20am,
    13 hours str8 playing live.

Online, have done 10am til 3am with breaks of no more than 1.5 hours total.

That's Dunphy alright, there's no stopping him once he gets going. He's played right through the night on many occasions online, more energy than sense if you ask me :D

I played for 12 hours one day online, wrecked at the end of it though and my concentration was shot to pieces, made about $900 profit after losing $400-$500 in the last hour with stupid mistakes.

I played for 2 days straight in Vegas last summer. Think i had one break of about an hour and whatever else i had to eat was at the tables. The only other time i got up from a table was to move between 3 different casinos. I was up $400 by the end but had been over $1000 but lost a lot of it late on as my eyes started closing on me.

It was pretty sick but i was definetely on the Vegas buzz that anyone who loves to play poker will be on when they go. Im sure i destroyed my insides with the amount of red bull i drank but it did keep me going. I would do it again but only if i was in Vegas for a few days as opposed to a couple of weeks. I need help.

Nothing serious live wise, maybe 6 hours or so , online about 12 or more , MTTs just kept overlapping, was on auto pilot towards the end. Its impossible to sleep at that stage without dreaming about poker , funny dreams them ones !

LOL actually last thursday night after the tournaments here locally few went back to my house and we played till about 11 the next morning ! so that was about 8 hours live Great memory i have...we had to stop cause one or 2 people had to go home and bring their families to mass 8-) ! I collapsed on the couch !

in vegas a month ago Played for 36hours ...But I had to walk between casinos so fresh air was hard, that probably disqualifies me. Started at about 2am In excalibur playing 1/3 NL, then MGM playing 1/2, then PAris tourney, then Bellagio 2/5, Caesars 1/2 and then MGM 11am $70 tourney which I won...then Some craps in hooters baby.

13 1/2 hours live play in January at City West, that's including breaks, tournament clock showed almost 10 hours play. I've played blackjack for over 20 hours a few times before in Tahoe and Vegas, woo hoo no need to sleep in a fancy casino :)

15 hours in a home game, no break for me as I was 1/2 in all games... Great night was had, and lots of cans sank, the hangover for the last 5 or so hours didn't seem to harm my play too much.

Online about 7 hours, I enjoy the live game alot more so it was probably harder to play the 7 hours online, needed to pick a good soundtrack to the night.

at one of the pokerevents nights in Cork, I went out somewhere in the final table (4-5 hrs play) then off to a home game with Vinnie "the long lad", trevor the txi driver, geoff the dealer (card dealer, you degenerates), and a couple other guys. Game broke around noon after 11 hrs of play.
