Help me find a BIOS upgrade.

    I've an old machine (c. 98/99) that I want to BIOS upgrade.

    The machine does all I want it to do, except install a 3COM 3C905CX-TX-M. I have the right driver, so I think a BIOS upgrade might be worth a go.

    Currently, it's an Award Modular BIOS v4.51PG BIOS-G (80813), on a VIA VT82C586A, not sure of the board but there is a sticker on one of the chips with "PcPartner" on it. Can't see anything on the Award, VIA, or PcPartner websites, but should I really expect to for a product this old?

    Can anyone do a better google than me, cos I am not coming up with anything?

    The POST shows 08/13/1998-580VPX-PRIME3-2A5LDV3JC-00 BIOS-G (80813).

    Thanks, had been there but didn't see my model

    Must have been my 2am bleary-eyed browsing.

    It is quite possible that it is an Aristo AM-545+ motherboard.
    Go here where you can download a manual for this M/board and also a BIOS upgrade (if it matches your board)
