    Hurricanes set to hit US

The 2006 US hurricane season – which runs from May 15 to November 30 – will be more active than normal but not as busy as last year, a weather company announced tonight.

Experts from AccuWeather.com, based in Pennsylvania, also said the US Northeast will be hit by a major hurricane within five years.

The firm said this year’s hurricane season will not quite top last year’s 26 named storms and 14 hurricanes, including the devastating Katrina along the Gulf Coast.

The chief forecaster of AccuWeather’s hurricane centre, Joe Bastardi, said the Northeast is overdue for a “powerful hurricane” and weather patterns in the oceans make it a question of when, not if.

Ok, so I'm drinking a few bottles of Miller, but I still thought it was funny.
